Bento #2
.

So, here we have my second attempt at a bento-style lunch. It only took me 40 minutes today, instead of the 90 minutes yesterday. I prepared the veggies yesterday, and added a couple of store-bought thingies. I think it came out super cute. I can’t wait to eat it, so I’m satisfying myself by blogging about it, instead.

From left to right: grape tomatoes with menacing vegan cheeze eyes, a mini jelly cup, two lychees with mango centers, inari (from Whole Foods) with ginger, (the lychee and inari make a face with the ginger as the tongue), tofurky rollups (tortilla, veganaise, mustard) with green olives on top, carrot and celery sticks, romaine lettuce leaves, a mushroom and leek stuffed steam bun (from Super 88) with a nori face, on top of a bed of sesame noodles (which you can’t really see).

The tomatoes are looming menacingly, the lychee / inari face is moaning in agony, and the steam bun is shouting obscenities… or so it appears. Eitehr way, they’re going to taste yummy!

I should mention that the 40 mintues time included making two (one for me, one for JeT), and clean up as well. JeT didn’t get fun tomato faces, or a steam bun face, but the food is the same.
